Medford resident Ashley Schreiber, 14, was located unharmed on Friday night, Dec. 27, hours after going missing. No other details were given.

Her mother, Jessica Brooks, described the ordeal as "the scariest day of my life," in an update on Facebook.

"So many emotions, but most of all, pure helplessness. Words can’t describe how it feels to know that your child is out there somewhere, but you don’t know where they are, if they are safe, if they are cold or hungry or scared, or who they are with," Brooks said. "Ash has been home for an hour and a half, and I’m still crying."

Brooks went on to thank the community for their support.

The response was overwhelming, and our family is so grateful," she wrote. "It is my sincere prayer that other families, especially the family of EmmaRae Gervasi, have the same outcome. Let’s find her and bring her home to her family."
